The URBAN CANVAS competition, created by the New York City Department of Buildings and Department of Cultural Affairs and supported by The Rockefeller Foundation, is a unique opportunity for artists and designers across the United States to contribute to New York City's urban landscape.
To participate, entrants must register using the online registration form. There is no fee to register.
Participants offer their artful ideas for construction fences, sidewalk sheds above active businesses, sidewalk sheds above non-active businesses and supported scaffolds. They should represent a cohesive artistic vision.
The deadline for registration is 5:00pm EST July 19, 2010. Competitors have until 3:30pm EST on July 28, 2010 to complete and send in their submission.
