I then raked out the lawn to remove loads of twigs from the trees, leaves and thatch. The pile was placed in a brown paper bag and will be picked up by the city for composting. I would compost it myself but with the bag being half twigs it would take a while in my composter. Exciting topic I know...As you can see everything is still very brown and the perennial borders still have their winter covering of leaves. Given a little time the lawn will green up and the perennials will be ready for another year of growth. You may also notice that my fence on the far right is still not finish, I will have to get to that very soon.
I then got out the long lens and took a couple shots of the woodpeckers on the feeders I built. We have alot of woodpeckers in our yard which I had not notice before. I had seen then often enough but never noticed the six or so that frequent the yard previous to putting out the feeder.
This guy was enjoying the warm breeze as much as I was.
